Fun autumn activities

What do you do on a cold, windy day in Malta? Use Grandpa's shop!!

We drove up to Lake Cleveland and you couldn't see anyone. It was so peaceful. Hyrum was the only one to catch a fish. He didn't want to touch it at first, but...he manned up and held it :)

Yoga with Dad

Hyrum's buddy, Ross Campbell came to play one day. Hy loved having another guy in the house :)
Lindsay and Kelsey were helping Dad do his yoga stretches.

Ev and I took Hyrum on a date to watch "Meet the Mormons". It was fun evening out!
Kelsey was creeping along furniture and getting her practice in for walking!

Hy's Jog-a-thon 2014

Hyrum did the jog-a-thon again this year. Grandpa gave him $20/lap in stead of $25....but he ran 10 laps instead of 9 laps :) He was the top earner and got to ride in the parade AND got his very own iPod.

This is one of the Christensen girls that was the top lap runner. I was in charge of the parade float and we used Grandpa Jeff's 4020. It was a  fun float to do.
Look at that sexy beast driving the John Deere. What a sport!
 Hyrum throwing candy.

Kelsey's first pigtails

Yay for a haircut! I love getting my hair cut....it always feels so good :)
 Lindsay loves Kelly Bear
And, finally, I put pigtails in Kelsey's hair! What a cutie-pa-tootey!

Fun with Cousins, Aunties, Friends and Hairdos

One weekend, we stayed in Twin Falls at the Yavruianm's b/c Evan was gone. We had a fabulous princess party!
Dancing Princesses and the babes in the swimming pool!

Then we had a tea party. (PS--see the chairs that Riley & Lindsay are sitting in? Kids love those things!!)
As princesses at the princess party, we do not discriminate against ninja warriors. Especially when they are forced to attend the tea party.
On another venture Mom, Kelsey, Lindsay & I got to meet Janelle and Allison at Chic-fil-a. Jessica, Stevie, and Janeen were so jealous that they did the same thing that evening in Provo.
This fall I've been babysitting Allison Schumann (age 3) 3 days a week while her mom works full-time as the FFA teacher at the high school. We have had a lot of fun with Allison!

One time she brought her Elsa doll.

This was the day she & Lindsay made cookies and we danced to Halloween music while we did so.

This was Halloween and we had 3 Elsas! Allison was wearing a homemade ballroom gown that her Grandma had made.
Aunt Decca and Stevie always have the cutest hair accessories. In this pic, she let Kelsey borrow Stevie's bow....aren't they cute???
Later, Lindsay and I TRIED  to have the same effect. Lindsay did my hair and her own. She is adorable!!!

 And on another occasion....
Then Lindsay put one on Kelsey!
And our final attempt!
Another day while we were babysitting, all the girls had a turn with Riley's Elsa crown!
Kelsey:
 Still Kelsey.
 Allison.
 Lindsay.
On Mondays, I have just my girls. This is when Riley and Lindsay were pretending to be rocks (like the trolls on Frozen). There were two beautiful rocks just sitting in my living room. Then SURPRISE! It was really Lindsay & Riley.
On Fridays, I have my 3 girls + Allison. This day we made homemade crowns. Apparently, Allison really loved hers and wore it to her brother's basketball game that night and throughout the rest of the weekend! Who knew?
I love that this picture looks like the two princesses are being nice to the peasant girl Lindsay, but she actually just didn't want a crown that day!

Target Practice FHE

For FHE one evening, we drove up to the corrals and had target practice.

The girls being cheerleaders while me, Dad & Hyrum had a friendly competition. I'm pretty sure I won.

 Hyrum's turn.
 Little Lindsay.
Riley's turn...she's like Merida on "Brave!"
After the bow and arrows, Evan got out his .22 pistol. Unfortunately, it was pretty loud and both Hyrum & Riley didn't like it at all. But other than that, we had a fun FHE!! Too bad I don't remember the scripture we used for that night.....  ;)

Visiting Jeb's Grave

I sure love having Jeb's grave here in Malta. We go to his grave after church on Sundays. We may or may not race home afterwards. Probably a good way to get to see Jeb sooner than later.....er.....we better stop that!!

Also, on this Sunday, all the girls were wearing denim.

EISF 2014

On Saturday, Sept. 6, we made a trip to the Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot. I always enjoy visiting the fair. We were hoping that Evan would be able to watch the Indian Relay Races. We saw a little bit through the hole in the fence, but not much. It is more of an adult event and would be hard with 4 little kids :/ We'll have to try another time. We did have fun at the fair and got a nice visit with Grandma Spencer afterwards.

Riley used to call cousin Allison, Aslan. So, when we saw this miniature pony, we just had to take a picture!
Lindsay wasn't too sure of the goat.

 Riley, however, liked it!

Good looking' crew. We enjoyed seeing all of the animals: rabbits, funky-looking chickens, turkeys, goats, sheep, draft horses, miniature horses, etc. There was also a reptile exhibit with tortoises, iguanas, chameleons, snakes, etc. Ev's favorite thing to see was some gray, short cattle called "Murray Greys". We had fun talking to the guy who owned them.
