33 sounds good to me!!

I had such a great birthday! To start things out, Ev went on Memorial Day to Evanston, WY at 3 a.m., to pick up a little tri-colored corgi for me! Who does that??? My husband is AMAZING! She is a purebred, but unpapered female. She's 2 years old and I hope to get pups from her. She is such a cutie! We've had a lot of fun with her so far. Her name is Muzzy because of the white "muzzle" on her nose.
Ev asked what I wanted to do for my b-day. Since we had finished with the hay, I decided to go camping. At first I just wanted to go canoeing at 6-mile. Then Ev wanted to fish, so we decided Sublett, then I wanted to make a camp out of it...and we did! It was a little crazy trying to get things done so that we could go on Friday...but after we finally got there, it was sOOOO much fun! Dad & Mom came up with Bankhead's canoe and some 4-wheelers. We had Navajo tacos and Dad & I took the kids on a little ride. After dinner, Hy and I went out on the canoe. The reservoir was so smooth and just perfect. Ev and Riley went fishing and Mom made popcorn and dessert. That night, we were pretty cold and I was worried about the babies so I kept checking on them. Neither Evan or I slept that night, but that's ok. The next morning, Ev caught more fish (10 altogether) and Hy & I went on the canoe right before we left. Such a great b-day present!

Ri drew me a picture, Hy's holding the ladybug he caught me, Lindsay is holding one of the Reese's PB cups Vicki gave me and I'm wearing my hat and apron she gave me as well. Mom and Dad got me some moola and I got cards and letters and more PB cups from friends and family. I felt so loved!
Ev & I went to the Outpost that night as well. So fun!
My mother-in-law knows me well :)

Swathing

Dad and I had a bright idea that Decca and I could swap: one of us would watch the kids while the other one swathed. We swathed early this year and started the last week of May. We started with the triticale and then did the alfalfa. I actually really enjoyed it. I don't know if Decca liked going from one baby to 5!

Me with the babies. I obviously didn't have enough because somebody added 4 more dollies!
"Hands-free" swathing. The rows are so straight and the disc mower does such a pretty job of swathing. Anyone who has swathed "old school" knows what I'm talking about!!

I had all the kids out for a turn. I got the pics with baby Kelsey. She looks like she's already a pro!

We'll see if Decca comes back for next crop!!

Memorial Day

Can I just say that I'm so grateful that we moved Jeb's grave to Malta? We have enjoyed visiting it on Sunday afternoons and other random days. Memorial Day was great! We went and took the gravel off of the grave now that it has settled. Then we smoothed it out and planted grass on it. Most of the family and Grandma Spencer were there to be a part of it. It was a nice day!

Then we made some tin foil dinners. Here was the assembly line. I think we made over 20 dinners...I think we over planned. I called my friend Jami to help us eat some...and she  didn't even eat any!

Riley's 5th Birthday

Wow! My "baby girl" is 5 years old! What a party we had fit for a princess. She got a purple princess bike. She was a little intimidated by it at first, but by the end of the night, she had ridden it to the Albion park from the Johnson's and did really well!
I couldn't help it....I did five "Frozen" colors of nail polish for her and she loved them. She painted my finger and toenails and I did hers and Linz's.
Here is her b-day poster. She asked me to cut out the drawing I did of her as Elsa. I think she is holding her crown and jewelry that she got from Aunt Janelle. Bottom left are two dashing princes: Rick & Ev with their babies. It was Colin's first birthday, so we had a big ol' party at the Johnson's for the two kids. We ate pizza, had two cakes (Riley's was a "Frozen" cake with little Frozen dolls on it) and then went to the park.
Grandma Vicki & Poppa Bernie got her a Sofia swimsuit, goggles and a princess pool. The kids LOVED it. I foresee many pool parties this summer on hot summer days.
Riley also got: a carebear &sunflower (which is growing and she LOVES it), a Rapunzel doll that has two dresses (which she LOVES), a cute maxi dress, yoga pants, and princess nightgown, a Merida Barbie doll and a coloring book (which she LOVED). Basically, Riley hit jackpot. And I'm not gonna lie, it is easy shopping for that girl :)

I love my Riley and her sense of beauty. She loves to make things beautiful including: hair, paintings, her dolls, her sisters, herself, the house, etc. She definitely has a strong will and a flash of a temper. But she gets over it quickly, and loves you completely again. She loves to sing made up songs and sing in front of the fireplace where she can see her reflection. She makes me smile, laugh, and get angry almost every single day. I love my Riley and I'm so glad that she's my daughter.

Knock, knock?

Hy knocked trying to get into Riley's room. Riley had been telling Hyrum to stay out.

Ri: Who is it?
Hy: (pause) Then in his best "female" voice, "Your mother!"

Evan & I couldn't stop laughing.

Warm Spring Days

For Granny T's bday, we went to Richmond on Black & White days and helped "spring clean" her yard and house. It was fun to catch up with aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. I don't know why I have the top picture, other than Granny T was holding Kelsey, Aunt Josie is holding Stevie, and Aunt Cara is handing Kelsey off to Granny. The bottom picture, Riley gets to meet her 2nd cousin, Riley Jordyn (my cousin Samantha Robinson Huth's daughter). She was excited! We also got to see Grandma in the Red Hat lady float. Her house was a perfect spot on the parade route.

(I also saw my old chum, Mistidawn Going, from Richmond. We were friends mostly because of location for the few months we lived in Richmond before moving to Dayton. I recognized her and she recognized me. Fun stuff).
Riley and I made her a beautiful dandelion crown....then we found out Grandpa had sprayed the dandelions with chemicals the day before. So we took a quick pic and threw the crown away. Lindsay likes her tractors and her dad!
Lindsay riding buckin' Blondie and getting her trained for the rest of us. Ev & Lindsay got Leftie out for the rest of us one day. Me on the top, Decca in the middle, Grandmummsie on the bottom photo.
I think Lindsay has something on her face (again), Kelsey & Stevie being sweet & holding hands,
Grandpa Jeff pushing the kids on the swing, Decca & Stevie sleeping on the couch, and in the center is Hyrum on his field trip....he's the one in the rubber boots. Who wears rubber boots on a field trip? Hyrum. Why? Because we went to the Grush Dairy, and YOU WEAR RUBBER BOOTS AT A DAIRY. It was awesome! Evan and I went as herders...er...uh....parent volunteers. Lots of fun!

Happy 11th Anniversary to us and fun in Provo!

The week of our anniversary was forecasted to be rainy....and it was. So much that Dad didn't have much work for Evan to do on the farm. So on Wednesday, the 7th, we went to the temple. On our way, Ev asked if, since we were going to the temple and out to eat, if he could go to Enterprise over our anniversary. I was good, he was good, it was all good. My mistake came in mentioning to Hyrum that he had a choice of going. He PRAYED about it and felt like he should go to Enteprise with his dad. HOW DO YOU ARGUE WITH THAT?????

So the boys went. The reason I was so sad about Hyrum going was that we were supposed to go to  Mother's Day tea party at school. I was totally bummed.

The hat Hy made for our tea party. I got it later.

But since the boys left, the girls and I went and had a party of our own. We went to Provo and visited Decca and Stevie. We had a BLAST!!

The first night, we walked the Provo River Trail and stopped to get some slushie things--they were delish! And the walk was beautiful. Riley claims to this day that she saw a shark in the Provo River. So just, be aware if you ever plan to swim it or anything.... ;)

The next morning after a delicious breakfast, we got to go on the Frontrunner. I had as much fun as the girls!
We went to downtown SLC and the City Creek thing (which I have never been to) and went to the Children's Museum. The girls loved it! Lindsay wanted to drive the red truck all day. Riley liked the farm that had hens and the fake horse....Ev would wonder why we paid money to do that when we have it at home????  Riley also liked doing the weather and being "on tv."
The last day, we had a "real" yard sale in Provo. It was fun.
Thanks Decca & Stevie for easing the heartache of being "abandoned" by our boys for the week! Had a fun, fun time!! :)
