Girl Party

While Evan & Hyrum were gone, we had our own fun! Girl party in the tub!
Dinner at Bake Central so Mom doesn't have to cook!
When Ev came home, he showed me his new talent: talking on the phone hands-free with the use of his furry hat. I had no idea he was talking on the phone and was trying to carry on a conversation with him. He just stared at me silently, then started talking randomly. Finally, he pointed to his phone tucked inside his ear flap. Husband, you are brilliant.

Aunt Decca's & Cousin Stevie's

Sometime this winter, Hyrum & Kelsey & I went to Aunt Decca's. Decca was going down to Enterprise and Evan was down there already working at Holt's dairy. I also got to meet up with Valaine Palmer (old h.s. friend) and get some meds for my corgi dog.

Stevie and I snuggling on the couch early in the morning. Stevie doesn't snuggle. I loved this!!
Kelsey wearing one of Stevie's 5,284 head bows.
The oldest cousin playing with the littlest cousins.
 Playing in Stevie's crib "napping".
Kelsey liked to pull Stevie's binky out of her mouth, then quickly put it in again when she started crying. Classic case of "baby bullying." Don't believe me? I just laughed and captured it on my camera phone. Maybe that is considered "aunt bullying."

Other Winter fun, besides puppies

A friend gave Kelsey this dress. I've never been a hat fan. But I had to ridicule my daughter at least once in her life!! Hahahaha! She looks like a little beret girl :)
For pack meeting, we had a rocket derby. We got the rocket a month earlier, but the night before, Hy & Ev started working on it.
Of course, Hyrum got first place. I'm pretty sure it was because the paint was still drying ;) Here he is with his friend, Dusty Booth who we take to church with us sometimes.

We had only 2 days this winter where we could pull sleds behind the four-wheeler...this winter was too mild. By the time it was afternoon, most of this snow was gone.
Hyrum was looking in the mirror one evening and said, smiling: "I like the face Jesus gave me."

Lindsay calls "cheese crisps" (basically a cheese quesadilla) "Squeeze Piss". Of course that makes us giggle!

She will sign words during dinner. One night, she wanted the ranch dressing and she asked, "How do you sign 'CAL ranch'?"

She also likes to help Evan " 'swange' (train) the dogs".

Corgi Puppies II

We had a lot of fun with the corgi pups over the next 2 months!
 Allison, the girl I babysit.

Corgi Puppies!!

I got my male corgi. Houdini, in hopes that we would get puppies. The previous owners of Muzzy thought she was infertile. So I was crossing my fingers. About mid-december, I had a very FAT corgi!
On the COLDEST day of the year, Muzzy had six pups. Sadly, the first, a tricolor male was found dead :( We got her in a warm hut and she popped out 5 more!
We almost lost the little tri-color female. She got cold. Ev put all of the pups under warm water and we brought the "birthing tank" in the mud room. The kids loved to peek on the puppies and make sure they were ok. They were stinky puppies though :)

Hyrum the skier

Dad, Decca & I took Hyrum skiing for his first time during Christmas break. Dad got him private lessons with Angela Bovee (from the Singles Branch in Albion). He liked it and figured it out pretty fast!!
The hardest part about the day is that as you ride up the "Magic Carpet" on the bunny hill, the temperature was perfect to form ice on your skis or on your boots. We had to chip at the ice every time we got to the top before we put on our skis! I'm in the yellow, Hy is on the ground, Dad is in the red.

Woo hoo! Look at him go!
 Ski buddies ;)
Decca & I. Are we on a black diamond or the bunny hill? You decide :)
So, Hyrum and I went two more times after this during the season. He rode the magic carpet the next time and just kept getting better and better. We went up again with Decca and Dad and started riding the ski lift. Hy did GREAT! He went down Milk a few times and raced Grandpa the last time. Apparently, Hy won. He was getting a little faster than his mom wanted to see, be he was doing awesome! Can't wait to take him next season!

Christmas 2014

We had a fancy Christmas Eve dinner at the Mummsie's. Who doesn't love a guy doing dishes??
Family picture. What a cracker-jack looking group!?! (Is that a term?)
Riley got a new dress (like a real princess) from Gma Vicki as well as jewelry.
 Lindsay loves her babies.
Hy got a new winter hat and remote control car and BB's for his gun!
Kelsey giving loves to her new baby doll.
I'm seriously the worst photo-taking mother ever. I mean this is ALL  I got for Christmas pictures! Ugh on me. I'm having a hard time with the digital/camera phone and prints/blogs/digital storage--so I don't take pictures. What's up with that?
From Santa: Hy-bathrobe, hatchet/shovel thing, Riley & Lindsay-Elsa dolls, Kelsey-purse thing.
I'm also becoming disenchanted with toys. We have so much stuff that I'm constantly trying to organize. Ugh on me, again! Luckily, Grandmas came to the rescue with fun gifts! I love the little sign that says, "Who needs Santa when you've got Grandma?"
But it was a fun Christmas at home!
