Funny Wunny's

*At the trek, they warned us to drink lots of water so we didn't get dehydrated and have to get IV's. I told Riley this warning to make sure she kept drinking water. A few days later, she told her dad, "Dad, I need to drink lots of water so I don't get 'pinned'."

*Instead of "Family Home Evening", Hyrum has shortened it to "Hamily Evening." This would be a great name for a bunch of hogs "da du du dum". (Again, the drum roll after a clever remark)

*Lindsay signs "more," "please," and "food." When she sees food she really wants, she pulls out all the stops and tries all of her signs to make sure she gets the food. She also hates people in general. She loves her mother, grandmother and dad. Other than that, she really doesn't like you. Sorry, no offense intended.

We are having....

a GIRL! Yes, girl #3 will be here about Thanksgiving time. So when you're pulling your turkey out of the oven, I'll be pushing my turkey out of mine (da-du-du-dum)! *That is the sound of the drums after making a clever or funny joke....just in case you were wondering.

This picture is an accurate description of how the news was taken:
Hyrum bawled for about 1/2 hour.
Riley didn't really care one way or the other...just don't bother her about it.
Lindsay has not a clue about how her life is going to change...drastically.
Perhaps this is the reason Hyrum doesn't want anymore sisters?
He asked if 1) we could adopt a brother for him or 2) he could be adopted into a family of all boys. Such is life my son!

Pioneer Trek 2013

(*These pics are reversed...sorry)

Poppa Jeff photobombed the pic of Ev & Lindsay :)
Hyrum doing the Virginia Reel with Jaycee Lewis. He loves to dance....until someone teases him about it.
Lindsay liked to drum on her Dad's bald head.
This was our campground....only Mormons would find some desolate, dusty place to camp (with no trees) and pull handcarts for their "vacations." But in all seriousness, the Spirit there was amazing and my heart was truly turned to my ancestors who went before me. Their stories are unbelievable and inspiring. They did so much to be in Zion.
 Riley with her Grandmummsie.
A lot of the youth from our ward doing the Virginia Reel.
The morning we set out for Wyoming!

Malta 4th of July Fun

High Tech goat roping. At the NV Ranch, we didn't have chutes. (Hyrum is the header in both shots)

And we didn't have the "saddle-horn-so-you-can-dally-up" belts.
Lindsay loved the petting zoo. She kept giving "loves" to this baby calf.
 Hyrum on the swing.
The streak with red leggings is Riley.
We loved the snowcones, the fireworks, and the fun activities. Then we came home and Uncle Rick put on a firework show and we sampled some popcorn. It was a fun, late night!

Knee high by the fourth of July

The old saying goes that if your corn is as tall as your knee, your corn is doing great! It always seems like it really depends on the year, the frost, the rain, etc. if you can get your corn in on time and then if the weather is warm enough to really grow your corn. This year, our corn was looking awesome.
*Please don't mind the people who may or may not be looking quite as awesome...Lindsay's lack of pants and my lack of makeup and....everything else :)

And then, on the 5th, we got a monstrous hail storm that tore through our corn. As I look out our window right now, it is still hammered, but I think it's going to pull through!

We love our daddy!

For Father's day, I had the older munchkins answer a survey about their dad. Below are their answers. I didn't even try to encourage different answers....I just wrote it as I heard it :)

On the back they drew pics for their dad. Riley's is about fishing and Hyrum's I about "firepits."
Here they are in front of the new Massey-Ferguson swather cutting peas and barley (notice the peas and barley are over the kids' heads!). Everyone who loves daddy yell, "Me, me, me!"

Storybook Park

Our new favorite park is Storybook Park in Burley. I didn't even know this little gem existed. It's about 10 years old, so some of the paint is chipping, but it is still awesome. they have the "sea", a farm, a castle, a spaceship, a dino digging sandbox, and (ok my sisters, be prepared) a STAGE! I think we would have LOVED this as kiddos. I love it as an adult. call us and we'll meet you there :)
