Dog trainers

Hyrum likes to train Jimmy....or....uh.....Jimmy training him?
"This is how I train him to jump!"
Lindsay loves to squeal at the dogs and the cats at the door.

And then, today, Evan had a surprise for the family. And this is one of the few times that I actually WAS surprised. I figured it was an animal but I was thinking a chicken or a goat, but.....

a PUPPY!
He is a German Shorthair and a bird dog. Ev is exciting to try him out this autumn. He is a CUTE little pup!

In other news, Hyrum got his second report card....about half way through. He has a hard time going to school--he says he misses me but I think that he would rather just be outside plowing snow with Poppa Jeff (like today). He is a good student. He likes doing "50-in-minute" and now he's excited to check out books from the library.

Lindsay is sleeping through the night from about 8pm to 6am. Yay!! She waves (occasionally) and claps (occasionally) and gives her mommy a big kiss on the cheek.

Riley still loves her dresses and dancing.  She loves going to gma's house! She also likes to watch the Dora movies on the DV-O's (instead of DVD's).

Ms. Spunk

My husband has been known to use the term "knot-head." Riley now addresses her Grandpa, in a loud voice and with a scowl, as "you knock-it-head". Then she runs and gives him a big hug. I think it is a term of endearment.

She is now a Sunbeam and her teacher (one of them) is Karen Fowles. Riley loves Karen. I wonder if she calls Karen a "knock-it-head". This is the dress that she wore Sunday. She L O V E S it.
Good thing she's not a diva...
 that gets lots of dresses....
from her Grandmas..........
oh, wait.
Eat your heart out Neener.

My baby.....sob

One day, I woke up and my baby was standing in her crib. The mattress was lowered that day.
Later that day, I was using the bathroom and Lindsay was playing by the tub. I looked down after I was done washing my hands and she was IN the tub (with no water). The bathroom doors are now shut.
She learned to crawl with her belly off of the floor but she still prefers army crawling. My floors are never clean enough.

*No baby was harmed or actually eating stuff off the floor with this photo. It was staged with a puff.
How she feels when you try to help her crawl on her hands and knees.

And to end the month, she decided that she WOULD drink formula from a bottle! Hallelujah! That means I can go places now, I could substitute, Evan can feed her, Mom can babysit, others could babysit, she doesn't need...me......WAIT! I want my baby back...sob....

Adios Arizona

We had a blast in Arizona and were disappointed, once again, to have to come home to my cooking after eating at Vicki's for a few days. This time, on way home (we travel on the old Route 66...think "Cars"), Ev stopped in Jack Rabbit for me so that I could ride the giant Jack Rabbit. I have wanted to do this since the first time I went to AZ with him! Yay!

Bowling in Show Low

I think we have found our new tradition with Aunt "George" (aka Kalene). We went bowling again in Show Low....and she totally kicked our trash. But we had fun and introduced Riley and Hyrum to the joys of bowling. They are about as natural as their parents.

Hyrum liked to heave his ball like his dad. He didn't want to push it like Riley...not the "girly" way.

Riley would roll her ball and it would take f o r e v e r to get down there. But she loved it.

Firefighter

Hyrum got his firesuit from Santa, and can you believe, he had his first " 'mergency call" at Poppa Bernie's?

This is how we put on a firesuit (with a little help from Poppa) when it's
time to go out on a call (or just after you have gone #1 b/c you're soooo excited).

Running to the scene of the fire.

"Fires I have fought and won..."

In other big news of the fireman's life, he kept his Pull-up dry during the week @ Arizona and is now Pull-up free! No diapers for two kids now! woo-hoo!

He has passed 0-9 in 50 in a minute, he sold some of his chicken eggs to his speech teacher (his customer) and sells some to Grandmummsie, and he loves ropes and always leaves bits of rope or twine lying around the house. Luckily, he usually just ties himself up.
