Yeah, I think I have one or the other...

I'm currently looking for another ME. I need someone to feed Riley, take care of a cooped-up two-year old, Ev, what's left of the garden, winterize the yard, clean my house, and pamper me whilst I lay half-dead in bed.

Adieu, adieu, to ewe and ewe and ewe...

(Sing title to the Sound of Music) Evan shipped the lambs a couple of weeks ago. Yay!

Freezing Corn II

Posted by Picasa
The Humphries' grow a HUGE corn patch out in the garden and we get together and freeze corn. This year we had even more people and it was so much fun. I think it is as close to an old-fashioned quilting bee as we get, but I love it. We gab AND get the work done together.

Mommy's dress

(Please stand on your head to view this blog.)
Mom sent me this dress in the mail. One of her friends made it for me when I was born and now Riley gets to wear it.

How to eat "Cob on the Corn"

Posted by Picasa

Hy would keep going cross-eyed when he'd go to take a bite of corn. I don't know if I got it, but I thought all of these pics were so funny!

Riley's view point from her Bumbo. And yes, Izzy is cross-eyed.

I'd like to thank the academy....

I bottled green beans. For the first time. All by myself. I feel like I've won an award. So I have to thank my peeps. (And I couldn't get a pic of my face b/c I looked like....I'd been bottling green beans all day :)

First of all, thank you to my wonderful husband for planting the garden and my green beans even though you feel the ground could be used for something tastier.

Secondly, to Brooke and Austin for all the "help" snapping the green beans.

To my good friend, Erin, for being a gardener extrodinaire and also for bottling all of your food--you're such an inspiration!!

To my other friend, Amber, for letting me borrow her brand new pressure cooker.

To Hyrum, for "helping" in the kitchen and making it more...interesting.

And finally, to Mom, for teaching me how to bottle green beans, for the tips and pointers you gave me the other day, bottling yummy green beans for us for so many years, and for MAKING us help you snap green beans growing up. What I wouldn't give to have had you sit by me to talk to as I snapped away.

Z is for zucchini and other fun things...

For preschool this week, we walked down to the garden (totally counts for my exercise) and found zucchini in the garden (totally counts for working in the garden that day). We talked about all the veggies in Ev's garden and then made a zucchini "Z".
This is my preschool class. Can you tell which one is the "troublemaker" ? My little John Deere girl with her divalicious bow in her hair and her 'hawk.
What is that, cheese, in front of Buzzy's face?

Bath anyone?

Since I'm a little leary of posting the movie of Riles stark naked, I thought I'd show her right before getting in the tub...her favorite time of day!
