Gummy Face

Hyrum loves his GUMMY SNACKS. I bite them in half and stick them somewhere on his face. He finds them and has his yummy treat.

Love Tag!!
What is your husband’s name?
Evan Bernard Israelsen

How long have you been together?
Married almost 5 years!!!!

How long did you date?
6 Months, Engaged 3 Months -- in fact just this last week we celebrated our 5 year engagement anniversary!

Who eats more?
Evan--in fact, that was one of the requirements of the man I married. I once went out with a guy that ate less than...ANYONE!

Who said I love you first? He did.

Who is taller? He is.

Who has more speeding tickets?
We are probably tied. I got the last one :-(

Who is smarter?
We are equals here, too. He got a higher GPA and I got a higher ACT score. That was another requirement...he had to be smart.

Who is more sensitive?
I am until Ev watches an "underdog" movie like "Remember the Titans"

Who does the laundry? Me

Who does the dishes? Me -except the milk bucket

Who sleeps on the right?
If you're laying on the bed, he does....if you're standing at the foot, I do.

Who pays the bills? Me

Who mows the lawn?
Me... and I LOVE to mow the lawn on the John Deere riding lawn mower. Evan will do the hand mower for me sometimes.

Who cooks dinner?
I mostly do, but Evan is in charge of the GRILL...and he does a GREAT JOB!

Who drives when you are together? He does

Who is more stubborn?
I didn't know so I asked Evan. We haven't come up with a good answer. It just depends on what it is.

Who kissed whom first?
Ev did. But he was just going to give me a peck on the cheek (so he says). I turned my head and let him have it!?!

Who asked who out first?
Evan

Who proposed?
He did. He asked me while driving in his white Chevy. I was SOO not expecting it on Feb. 13--I thought he'd ask on Valentine's Day!

Who has more siblings?
Evan has 2 bros, 3 sis, 1 half bro, 2 step sisters. I have 1 bro, 3 sis

Now I tag Holly, Brittany, and Terra.

Our Valentine's Date

Our VALENTINE'S day was an unexpectedly fun day. It was so windy and stormy that Evan didn't have to work outside all day. So, Evan got to play with Hyrum, tie rope halters and watch "Buck Brannaman" videos about training horses. I made sugar cookies in the meantime. By the afternoon, it had cleared up so we climbed in the pickup and went to see the brand new baby calves. Hyrum LOVED watching the little calves bucking around their mothers. We did a few other chores, delivered some cookies and came back. Evan needed to milk the cow, so I asked if I could come. We dropped Buzzy off at the Humphries' and I fulfilled one of my dreams....I got to drive the Ranger (a little ATV machine).

Here I am milking the Jersey cow. Right after this picture was taken, the cow stepped forward and knocked half the milk out of the bucket.

My SWEETHEART milking the cow. He doesn't remember starting to milk the cow but at age 4, he had a little bucket that he filled for his little puppies--how sweet it that? Evan won't let me throw away his crusty, gross chore hat--but it looks like the one my Grandpa Johnson used to wear, so there is a part of me that doesn't want to throw it away. And that hat is SO Evan.

This is Evan's new passion....training stock dogs. I think his dream in life would be to have some well-trained cowdogs, jump on his perfectly trained donkey, park his truck and trailer at the bottom of some mountain, and bring a herd of wild cows in the mountain and put them in the trailer. And while doing this he would wear his "English derby hat" and have it video-taped or have an audience of Nevada buckaroos. I don't understand my husband's dreams...but it's one of the things I love about him!

Stuck in Idaho

I never thought I'd say this, but....I'm stuck here in Idaho. This usually wouldn't be a bad thing at all, but it is when your honey is in Nevada! Because of the winter storms, we've had to re-schedule doctor's appointments and other things and Evan had to go back to work. I miss him :(

Monster Party

In kindergarten two weeks ago our theme was "monsters." So, we had a "monster party." We had the kids come over in their pj's and had a delicious dinner of monster mac n' cheese, monster snack ramen, monster kool-aid and made monster cookies. Then we watched Monster's Inc. In the above pic, you see me, Hyrum, Bryson, Amanda and Ashley.

Here are the kids making their cookies- Brooke is the one giving her smile and Austin is next to her.

We had a blast and are considering a "Cars" party next....
