Fun in Enterprise

We took a much-needed vacation this weekend and went to Enterprise, UT for Pioneer Day and some fun! Basically everyone on the ranch is from the Enterprise area so most of the employees headed that way.
We went to the rodeo on Thursday night and slept at someone's beautiful, huge house that we didn't even know while they were gone on vacation (Enterprise hospitality). Then we woke up at 4:45 (Nevada time) and went to the 5K (see next post).
Then we saw the parade, had breakfast at Pickerings, napped/rested/showered at the stranger's home, visited the Jones' house, then had a delicious dutch-oven dinner at Pickerings and then went to the rodeo again where Evan competed with some of the other guys on the ranch. It was so much fun!!
We slept at the Sleep-E motel and then woke up this morning and got home. The town of Enterprise is great and the people are super! Eric Pickering has a Johnny Popper tractor that Hy and Trace got to ride. They absolutely LOVED it!
This is Evan and Hy finishing the 5K.

Enterprise 5K

My goal was to WALK a 5K in under an hour---55 minutes and I don't remember how many seconds!! Yay!We did it as a family. Yes, Evan is the only person to wear jeans in a 5K and no, he didn't practice once. I brought Hy's little shorts, but if Dad doesn't have to wear shorts to a 5K, then neither does he!Hy's first time on a school bus! It was driven by Ladawna, Decca's mother-in-law who is one of the funnest ladies I know.Trace and Hy. I didn't think Hy would be running, so I didn't sign him up. But he walked with his dad --Ev said he figured Hy walked/jogged over two miles (I think he has Israelsen endurance-yay!) Trace got the "youngest runner" trophy-go Trace! So this picture is a lie. I actually only had Riley and Ev and Hy came in after me. And this is the only time in the race where I was ahead of the "real" 5Kers. :) But this also shows my new stroller. My walking partner. Jessica and I have been practicing together and she is MUCH faster than I am. We were going to walk together, but I wanted to check on Hy so I told her to keep going. Notice my shirt says "Nothing RUNS like a Deere" get it? Runs...well, I thought it was clever. :)

Baby Trekker is the winner!!

After reading 1 million reviews, I FINALLY decided to buy a Baby Trekker. And so far, I love it! I was just about to get a Baby Bjorn but 1) they don't go on the back and I don't think they face outward and 2) nobody can use them after the baby gets passed 15 lbs (which I'm pretty sure Riley almost is!!). Anyway, on some random comment from someone who didn't like the Baby Bjorn, they suggested the Baby Trekker. I read about it and although it isn't as well known as the others, everybody seemed to like it. The only negative was that it "looked" bulky. I was more concerned about how it felt, rather than how it looked. Anyway, I would recommend it to any mom. www(dot)babytrekker(dot)com
Beautiful Riley smile

I have always wanted to give my son a weird haircut. So, I buzzed the top and left the sides long. I couldn't leave it for long, but it gave us a good chuckle for about an hour.

Our Cute, Cozy Camper

We just bought this from Ev's Mom and Dad. We love it already. Ev was baling one night, so Hy and I decided to have a sleepover in the new camp trailer. Here are the kids watching the "tractor movie" on my laptop.
