Fishing with the Beck's
There are just some things that it is better if you have help instead of trying to fly solo.
In our family, we needed help fishing.
Elder and Sister Beck are service missionaries for the church ranch and just happen to be avid fishermen. They took pity on us and took us fishing. We caught 40 fish the first time with them. This was our second time fishing with them at Cave Lake and this time our neighbors, the Andrae's were there as well.
Riley and I and Jaime are trying our luck.
Our first time, Ev caught 2 out of the 40 fish and Elder Beck had a good time harassing him. This time, the roles were reversed and Ev dished it right back to him!
Hy was reeling them in as well. Then he'd go dig in the dirt for a while and then come back and fish again.
Here is Sis. Beck, Audrae, Jaime and Hyrum getting the hamburgers and hotdogs ready for lunch.

except these have a little pit bull crossed into them! It was Mishel's first litter...and she had ELEVEN (actually 12). Are you kidding me?
And to top it all off, we have a heeler X Border collie pup named Tex. The good news: Evan has already found homes for a good majority of the puppies!

So, for the first time in my life I was in the lead for the 5 mile hike....actually I just ran ahead of all of the girls and snapped this picture. :)

The REAL troopers that made it to the top. Right after this picture, we were supposed to be to the spot where we hadve this amazing view...but it started snowing and the hike leader wasn't exactly sure where it was, so we ski-dattled back down the mountain! I am the second from the left.
This picture just makes me laugh. The girls really felt this way AND they were headed back to camp and I was headed home to food, a warm bed, and a hot bath. That night it was in the twenties!!! Poor girls!

Cowgirls like us....
Mom came to "watch the kids" while I "went to Girl's Camp" (but I only went up for a little bit. But we still wanted Mom to come so we could hang out with her!) We did a whole bunch of fun things like: ride horses, play with puppies, go for a bike ride, plant flowers...anyway, thanks for coming MOM!!

29 and feelin' fine!
Super fun b-day for me!!! I am soooo blessed with such amazing family and friends. I woke up to breakfast made by Evan. Then I went for a walk/jog with Amber, next set up the tent with Hy, then went on a four-wheeler ride and played in an ICE COLD mountain stream w/Hy, and finally came home to a BBQ and volleyball party with my fun neighbors!
I got exercise clothes, shirts, and my new bike!!!! LOVE IT!

Princess Lessons in Gardening
I finally took Riley out of her pack n' play and let her help with the gardening yesterday. The little princess learned some lessons:
1-It is okay to get dirty (really DIRTY like "this-picture-doesn't-do-it-justice-dirty") especially to plant a veggie or flower garden...
2-and dirt makes pretty good fairy dust....
3- HOWEVER, dirt does NOT taste delicious like a piece of chocolate.
4-And you shouldn't keep eating it, even if you start to develop a taste for it.
5-And after getting really dirty, the best thing of all is a princess bubble bath and getting all cleaned up!
